[Tuesday, May 9] In welcoming the return of the French GourMay, MGM presents two quintessentially French art d’ vivre indulgences this month. The chef’s team at Aux Beaux Arts, MGM MACAU, curates a sumptuous menu to pair with this year’s theme – French bubbles; a fun occasion, the “Bubble Up” Tipsy Party, will also take place on May 20, 2023, for locals and tourists to enjoy a late afternoon of French bubbles free flow. This continuous alliance is part of MGM’s initiatives in contributing to Macau’s positioning as the UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy through the showcase of international cuisines within the local culinary landscape.
Under the umbrella of the annual French May Program, the French GourMay is the only large scale cross-city festival in Hong Kong and Macau dedicated to celebrating the UNESCO-listed French gastronomy, and this year marks the 14th anniversary of the Program.
Haute French Classics and Sparkling Wines at Aux Beaus Arts
Throughout the month of May, guests are invited to experience the 4-course French GourMay “Bubble Up” menu. Orchestrating with the three top-notch sparkles and champagnes, the exquisite haute cuisine is elevated to create a true gastronomic symphony. The gourmet journey at Aux Beaux Arts begins with marinated Amberjack with Lemon Ash as appetizer, served with egg yolk and sour cream for their buttery and delicate flavors, which is beautifully paired with Charles de Fère Crémant de Bourgogne; Blue Mussels are reinterpreted by being served with a parsley emulsion to elevate its fresh and herbal aroma, which is matched perfectly with the fruity and fizzy-light body of the M. Haslinger & Fils Brut Champagne from Épernay. The main course, Wagyu Beef Cheek is slow braised then layered with chives and crunchy nuts, which is epitomized by the floral and toasty notes of the Veuve A. Devaux Cuvée Rosée Brut from Côte des Bar, without overpowering one another; last but not least, Mille Feuille with Vanilla Chantilly, Dark Chocolate and Fleur de Sel, will be a pleasant surprise for the palates, only available during the promotion period. The “Bubble Up” pairing menu is priced at MOP 948* per person.
“Bubble Up” Tipsy Party
In addition to the time-limited dinner experience, exclusively on May 20, 2023, Aux Beaux Arts’ “Bubble Up” Tipsy Party features over 20 different labels of French Champagnes and sparkling wines, including the acclaimed Gosset, Palmer & Co, Devaux and Bollinger. With the presence of seasoned sommeliers, guests can explore the unique characters of sparkling wines from various perspectives, such as the terroirs, grape varieties and the ways of winemaking. The entrance ticket of the fun-filled tipsy Saturday afternoon is priced at MOP 240 per person, with early bird discount for purchase before May 12, 2023.
