[Thursday, March 3] It is time to usher in the lively season of spring – right at this fresh start of the year, MGM invites all gastronomy enthusiasts to embark on the “Taste of Reminiscence” journey and indulge the true flavors of Chinese cuisines.
Traditional Hand-crafted Dishes Tells the Stories of Lingnan Culture
The two Cantonese restaurants, Imperial Court at MGM MACAU and Chún at MGM COTAI, each launches a special menu featuring a lineup of nostalgic delicacies of Cantonese cuisine. These dishes are thoughtfully crafted to present the specialties of Cantonese cuisine, to pay homage to Lingnan gastronomic culture, the core culture that shapes Macau’s distinctive cultural landscape.
Imperial Court’s Sweet and sour pork roll with preserved olive highlights the traditional treasures of Cantonese cuisine with a spark of innovation, giving the Chaozhou favorite pork roll an extra layer of flavor with the use of the preserved olive and sweet and sour plum sauce. On the other hand, as a nod to Cantonese traditions through its authentic-refined Cantonese flair, Chún presents Stir-fried grouper fillet served with steamed lobster broth and egg white, one that perfectly showcases the chef’s extraordinary Cantonese culinary techniques – putting the best of two iconic cooking techniques at one bite with the fresh stir-fried grouper fillet on a bed of silky steamed egg white. Another traditionally hand-crafted dish, Wok-fried prawn with Choi Sum and Yunnan ham, features the freshness of prawns and green. Served in an elegant style plating that resembles the woman’s hair bun in the old days, this dish unveils the charm of Chinese culture inside out.
Palate Enroute to Sichuan with Authentic Local Delicacies
“Freshness” is what makes Cantonese cuisine stands out from the diverse list of Chinese cuisines; and for Sichuanese cuisine, the spirit of the cuisine is all about the “flavors”. Five Foot Road at MGM COTAI is keen to bring the sumptuous 24 flavors in Sichuanese cuisine to all gastronomy enthusiasts in Macau. The restaurant is serving Chengdu traditional Poached rice with seasonal vegetable and pig intestine in bean soup, a heartening, creamy soup made of white peas, which is one of the local’s favorite comfort foods that is not to be missed. Other authentic delicacies, including the nutritious Double-boiled fish maw with spring bamboo shoots in bouillon and Chengdu special Wok-fried pork with baby garlic stem and broad bean paste are also served to present the true flavors of Sichuan.
Sense of Spring
Pastry Bar and Rossio at MGM MACAU, as well as Anytime at MGM COTAI are at the same time serving a lineup of spring-themed pastries and tea sets, hinting a sweet note to this warm and breezy season. Other restaurants of MGM also feature a diverse array of seasonal menus and nutritious delicacies especially curated for the season.
“Taste of Reminiscence” and other seasonal delicacies are now available till May 31; and the Sichuan specialties at Five Foot Road will be available from April 1 to May 31. For reservations and enquiries, please call (853) 8802 3888 or visit www.mgm.mo.
