In order to support the development of Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) into a World Center of Tourism and Leisure, a commercial and trade cooperation service platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, as well as a base for exchange and cooperation with Chinese culture as the mainstream and the coexistence of different cultures, in response to the “Tourism+” cross-industry synergy strategy to foster competitiveness of Macao tourism and strengthen the collaboration with other industries, MGM partnered with Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and various units to launch "Tourism+" Cultural Diversity Development Exchange Initiative.
One of the three key focuses is “Tourism+” Inclusive Tourism in GBA. Hence MGM joined hands with MGTO, Macau Deaf Association, Guangdong Association of The Deaf again and supported by Guangdong Sign Language Association to launch “Power in our hands – The Greater Bay Area Sign Language eLearning Program”, and brand new in 2022 the “Guangdong-Macao In- Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin Tourism & Hospitality Chapters”.
This program provides basic knowledge of Standard Chinese Sign Language and Macao Sign Language. This is aimed to raise awareness of Accessible Tourism and Sign Language Culture among the Greater Bay Area community as well as cultural and tourism industry practitioners; at the same time, in response to the “Overall Plan for the Construction of Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone” in supporting high-level construction of Hengqin as an International Leisure Tourism Island and Macau as World Center of Tourism and Leisure.
