[January 16, Macau] Embrace the New Year with the auspicious dragon! MGM will launch a series of Chinese New Year celebrations, offering a range of sumptuous menus and festive activities to welcome the joyful atmosphere of the Year of the Dragon.
A Feast for Reunion with Loved Ones
Imperial Court, the Lingnan restaurant being recognized by the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide, presents a Chinese New Year Set Menu featuring seafood and seasonal ingredients such as Baked Boston lobster with glutinous rice cake and chanterelle mushroom, as well as the Double-boiled abalone soup with dendrobium flower and bamboo pith. These dishes symbolize prosperity and auspiciousness. Chun will also offer a special festive prix-fixe menu consisting of classic and creative dishes. The Chinese New Year 8-course menus at both restaurants start from MOP 7,800* for six persons. Also, a variety of exquisite Cantonese dim sum and festive dishes will be offered during the period. What’s more, Chun will introduce a limited-time Chinese-style afternoon tea set, allowing everyone to indulge exquisite pastries while enjoying the greatly loved Sea Odyssey Show under the free-span gridshell glazed roof of the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS.
In addition, the One-Michelin-starred Sichuan restaurant Five Foot Road, will present a series of classic festive Sichuanese dishes. Chef Yang Dengquan, with over 40 years of experience in the cuisine, brings a rich and diverse range of delicacies to Macau, including the traditional Double-boiled chicken soup with Chinese herbs and wolfberry, and Steamed sunflower chicken with pickled chili, as well as the Sichuanese specialties like Wok-fried glutinous rice with pork belly, sesame paste and crushed pistachio nuts. The delicacies will surely cater to everyone's palate with flavors beyond fiery and hot.
No Chinese New Year celebration is complete without a luxurious Big Bowl Feast, symbolizing abundance and prosperity. Both Chun and Imperial Court will offer two “Poon Choi” options, with premium ingredients such as abalone, fish maw, Japanese Otari Scallops, and sea cucumber, with prices starting from MOP 1,880*.
Other Chinese and Western restaurants at both MGM MACAU and MGM COTAI will also serve special menus or festive buffets during the period. Only available during the first three days of the Chinese New Year (February 10 to 12), Imperial Court will present the hand-written auspicious phrases by Chinese calligraphers, while Five Foot Road will offer traditional Chinese Dragon's beard confection to its guests.
God of Fortune and Lion Dance Blessing at MGM
Both MGM properties are adorned with festive decorations to welcome the Year of the Dragon. The Grande Praça at MGM MACAU showcases vibrant spring decorations, while the Spectacle at MGM COTAI features a festive floral garden with the presence of the renowned Mr. and Mrs. Lion sculptures and a prosperity arch, to usher in good luck for the new year.
Between February 10 and 18, MGM will invite the God of Fortune to greet guests with blessed gifts at 2pm, 4pm and 6pm daily, to heighten the festive atmosphere! Furthermore, on the third day of the Chinese New Year (February 12), MGM MACAU and MGM COTAI will jointly present the Auspicious Lion Dance Blessings at 11:30am and 5:30pm respectively, to share the joy and luck with everyone.
Prosperous Chinese New Year Puddings
Chinese New Year Pudding is a staple during the Chinese New Year. MGM's Chinese New Year Pudding Gift Box features dancing lions dressed up in traditional Chinese quilt pattern, symbolizing the convergence of auspiciousness and fortune. It comes with various options, such as the classic Chinese New Year Coconut and ginger pudding, Turnip with conpoy and preserved meat pudding, and the assorted mini puddings gift set, as well as the nourishing Water chestnut and osmanthus with bird’s nest pudding, priced from MOP 348 per box. The gift vouchers are available for purchase at designated restaurants till February 9.
Family Fun Festive Cupcake Workshop
Between February 10 and 18, guests are welcomed to unleash their creativity at the Chinese New Year Cupcake Decoration Workshop at Anytime with their very own festive sweets and assorted sprinkles. The workshop is priced at MOP 200 per child; discount is available with same-day dining receipts from selected MGM restaurants.
