The MGM COTAI Art Collection features over 300 captivating works seamlessly integrated with MGM COTAI’s public spaces. Discover antique carpets dating from the Qing Dynasty, modern and contemporary Asian paintings and sculptures by renowned artists, works by local and regional rising talents, and large-scale interactive installations. The collection is part of MGM’s goal to curate cultural tourism experiences with great originality and creativity, by bringing world cultures together through innovative artworks that are each spectacular in their own right.

The collection provide a stunning visual complement to MGM COTAI, while reflecting MGM’s commitment to creating world-class destinations that epitomize culture, creativity, and style. 清朝(1644~1911年)の間、シルクや金銀糸で織られた絨毯は常に北京の紫禁城内に欠かせない装飾品でしたが、現在、わずか約300点が残っており、それぞれ博物館や個人に収蔵されています。MGM COTAIの28点の皇室絨毯コレクションは、スタイル、時代やデザインのイメージにおいていずれも共通点があり、独特なコレクションシリーズを構成しています。
康熙時代、紫禁城は、宮廷専用の器具や家具を製造する工房「造弁所」を設立し、管轄の絨毯工房では、金、銀、銅糸を使ってシルクの絨毯に織り込み、織り手は龍、鳳と様々な花柄を器用に織り上げていました。
現存の清朝の皇室絨毯のうち、所属する宮殿の銘が残っているのはわずか126枚、そのほとんどは20ヶ所の宮殿を指しており、最も一般的な6ヶ所は太和殿、中和殿、保和殿、乾清宮、寧寿宮と景仁宮です。
