Welcome the Golden Ox with Festive Delicacies

Chún at MGM COTAI and Imperial Court at MGM MACAU are each serving a Chinese New Year special set dinner menu. Paying homage to both traditions and innovations, Chún’s set includes a lineup of dishes that symbolize good fortunes, such as Double-boiled fish maw with preserved cabbages and Stir-fried Australian lobster with spring onion and ginger. Imperial Court’s set menu on the other hand is also delicately crafted with deluxe seasonal ingredients and traditional cooking. Festive staples in the sets include Steamed giant garoupa with cordyceps flowers and lily bulbs, Double-boiled silkie chicken, pearl clams and American ginseng and more. The sets are priced at MOP6,800* and MOP6,380* for six persons respectively.

Poon Choi, or the Big Bowl Feast, a delicious mix and layering of goodness inside a fortune pot, is a Chinese New Year essential in Cantonese culture, as it symbolizes affluence and togetherness that makes a perfect communal feast for festive gathering. Both Chún and Imperial Court offer two kinds of Big Bowl Feast set, priced from MOP 1,680*, which are filled with abalone, fish maw, Japanese dried scallop, sea cucumber and over 10 other luscious ingredients.

Sichuanese restaurant Five Foot Road delivers a taste of the most authentic Sichuan festive delicacies to Macau, the Nine Dishes Banquet. As the number “nine” symbolizes longevity and eternity in Chinese culture, this banquet is tailor-made for the most important celebration of the year. Authentic Sichuanese classics in the set includes Braised giant garoupa fillet with chili bean paste, Stir-fried sea cucumber with diced pork belly and Stewed duck with sliced mushrooms, bamboo shoots, ham and seasonal vegetables, priced at MOP5,888* for ten persons. Chinese New Year special sets from these three Chinese restaurants are available from February 1 to 26. A la carte and dim sum dishes tailor-made for the festivity are also served during the festive period.

Other than traditional delicacies, the Chinese New Year themed buffets served at both Rossio and Coast are also great options to savor the festivity. On top of fresh seafood, carvings and Chinese delicacies, Lo Hei, a unique dish that symbolizes abundance and vigor, will also be served. Guests will be able to mix their custom-made flavors of good fortune to ring in the new year. Lunch and dinner buffets are priced at MOP368* and MOP518* per person, respectively.
