[Thursday, October 18] MGM kicked started Oktoberfest Macau at MGM 2018 at MGM COTAI today! Marking its tenth anniversary, this traditional German event is being hosted at MGM’s newest integrated resort, MGM COTAI, with a larger capacity and greater fun! From today to October 29 (excluding October 21), locals and tourists are all invited to join this Bavarian party with traditional décor, Löwenbräu beer, authentic delicacies, and live music by Munich’s Högl Fun Band.

For the tenth year, MGM is hosting its signature citywide event in cooperation with the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Hong Kong and Macao and the German Macau Business Association, with the continued support of the Macao Government Tourism Office. The event was officially kicked off with a beer keg tapping by Dr. Alexis Tam, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture of the Macao SAR. Other honorable guests were Mr. Yao Jian, Deputy Director of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR; Mr. Liu Bin, Director-General of Economic Affairs Department of Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao SAR; Mr. Li Yongpeng, Director of Department of General Affairs Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macau SAR; Mr. David Schmidt, Deputy Consul General of Federal Republic of Germany in Hong Kong and Macao; Ms. Maria Helena De Senna Fernandes, Director of Macao Government Tourism Office; Mr. Hoi Io Meng, Deputy Director of Macao Government Tourism Office; Mr. Anthony Leong, Deputy Director of Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau; Mr. Tony Un, Chairman of German Macau Business Association; Ms. Pansy Ho, Co-Chairperson & Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited; and Mr. Grant Bowie, Chief Executive Officer & Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited.

Ms. Pansy Ho extended her appreciation to the government departments, other supporting units and guests for their overwhelming support to the Oktoberfest Macau at MGM. She said, “The Oktoberfest Macau at MGM is marking its 10th anniversary at the Macao Year of Gastronomy. Over the past decade, it has become a talk-of-the-town event in Macau every October. As a food-and-wine themed event featuring culture and heritage, the Oktoberfest Macau demonstrates the synergies between gastronomy, creativity, culture and tourism, elevating Macau as a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy. With Macau’s competitive advantages of unique culture and tourism, we will continue to offer more diversified experiences, and we look forward to creating more signature events to our guests.”

The Beloved Högl Fun Band Again Brings Electrifying Live Entertainment to Guests

The crowd’s favorite Högl Fun Band from Munich returns to Oktoberfest Macau for ten years in a row, bringing their dynamic live performances of Bavarian music to rise the party vibe up to the next level. The theme song composed by the band, “Nei Hou, Macau!” integrates Macau’s local culture with Bavarian traditions, which captures the unique cultural exchange of this event.
